The Sally Bee, Gramp's Toy
The "Sally Bee" is a 27'
Silverton. This fiber glass boat was in our possession for about 5 years. Prior to that, we tooled around in a 20'
Bertram Sport Fisherman. As anyone who ever owned one is aware, a boat means loads of pleasure but also considerable work and expense to maintain in a "floatable" condition. We did sail out into the Atlantic a lot in search of the proverbial "Big One". Such trips, which were mostly accomplished with the Bertram, never failed to bring excitement and pleasure. Additionally, the boats were ever so handy in that they provided uncrowded, convenient, comfortable, close-up, mobile platforms from which to view space launches from within the Kennedy Space Center. This capability was especially appreciated when we had the opportunity to invite visitors to join us for the experience.

Our Very Latest Family Member
On 20 October '02 we decided to upgrade in the wheels department. We traded our '99 chariot for an '03 Cadillac CTS. As this is compiled, we have done nothing more than drive it home and, thus far, it seems to perk along just fine. A more detailed report will be furnished later when we have had time to break it in.
It is now November '03 amd the time has arrived when we have had a bit of difficulty with our CTS. Specifically, some electrical and computer problems were encountered. Accordingly, we have renamed her as "Poor Baby" and have installed a recent photo of her directly below. Appropriate graphics by our friend Slowbell have been added.

Rick bought this
'55 Chevy Nomad to rebuild a few years ago; he
likes to renew old cars; has it looking like
new.
Son Rick, and I visited
Carl to see his model of the USNS Wyman. Carl had been Captain of the Wyman on
two occasions during his seagoing career. He considered it a challenge to
build a model of the ship from the original plans. It is constructed of poster-board, using
Elmer's Glue. It took two years to build. For more pictures of the model, check out Carl's site at:

We had an enjoyable visit, Carl giving us a thorough tour of his work of art and his
neat, comfortable home. While there, we had the pleasure of meeting his beautiful wife Greta and pal Derby Brown (a YorkshireTerrier-Poodle
mix). You have heard of a Yorkypoo, haven't you?
